Pal Arinsal has no village on the slopes. You stay in the villages of the La Massana parish below and ride a gondola up. The choice comes down to which sector you want on your doorstep: Arinsal for the Arinsal sector and snowpark, or La Massana for the Pal sector and the forest runs.
Best areas to stay in Pal Arinsal
Arinsal
A small village with the Arinsal gondola in the centre, near most of the hotels. You can also drive to Prat de la Mollera and take the Josep Serra chairlift. Arinsal is the closest base to the slopes and the snowpark, and the cable car at the top links you to the Pal sector.

La Massana
The parish town, bigger than Arinsal, with more shops and restaurants. The La Massana gondola takes you up to the Pal sector. It’s about 6 km from the centre of Andorra, so Andorra la Vella’s shops and the Caldea spa are close by. The car park at the gondola is paid.

Erts and the road between
Small villages on the road between La Massana and Arinsal. The four-star Hotel Sant Gothard is in Erts, about 2 km from the lifts, so you’ll need a car or the bus.
Andorra la Vella
The capital, with the most hotels and shops. Buses L5 and L6 run to La Massana and Arinsal. Good for a mixed shopping-and-skiing trip, less good if you want to be first on the lifts.

- Hotel Princesa Parc Excellence, Arinsal: the five-star part of the same complex, about 250 m from the gondola.

Luxury hotels in Pal Arinsal
Pal Arinsal isn’t a luxury resort, but there are comfortable options. Hotel Princesa Parc Excellence is the five-star part of the Princesa Parc complex in Arinsal, with its own spa and restaurant. In La Massana, Hotel Rutllan & Spa has a 500 m² spa with saunas, a Turkish bath and jacuzzis, plus indoor and outdoor pools, and the four-star Hotel Sant Gothard in Erts and Hotel Màgic La Massana are other comfortable choices.
Good-value places to stay in Pal Arinsal
Arinsal and La Massana have plenty of three-star hotels and aparthotels. Hotel Xalet Verdú in Arinsal and Hotel del Pui and Hotel Marco Polo in La Massana are three-star. Aparthotels and apartments work well for families and groups. Look at the resort’s own hotel and ski pass packages too.
Tips for booking a last-minute stay in Pal Arinsal
- Check the season dates. Pal Arinsal is scheduled to close on 4 April 2027, earlier than most Alpine resorts.
- Choose your sector. Stay in Arinsal for the snowpark and Arinsal sector, or La Massana for the Pal sector and its forest runs.
- Book the pass online. Prices are dynamic, so buying in advance can be cheaper than at the ticket office.
- Plan for the roads. From France, the resort recommends the Envalira tunnel rather than the pass in winter.
- Think about parking. Pal has 10 free car parks with space for 6,600 cars, but the car park at the La Massana gondola is paid. If you’re driving, ask your hotel about parking and ski storage.
- Know the lift times. The lifts run from 9 am to 5 pm every day, and the ticket offices open at 8.30 am in winter, so a hotel near a gondola gets you up early.
- Look at packages. The resort sells hotel and ski pass packages, which can be simpler than booking separately.
