Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis share one ski area, so you can’t really pick the wrong village. The choice is about how you want to get around, how young your children are, and which children’s area you’ll use most. This is a resort built around family hotels, and many of them are as much a reason to come as the skiing.
Best areas to stay in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis
Serfaus
The main village, at 1,427 m, with more than 7,000 guest beds. It’s car-free for guests once they’ve arrived: the free underground runs under the main street to the cable car station, so most hotels are a short walk from a stop. The free Murmlipark practice meadow is in the village centre, and the Murmli crèche takes children from age 1. Best for families who like the idea of a week without the car.

Fiss
Home to Berta’s Kinderland, about 80,000 m² of slopes reserved for young children, and Berta’s Kindergarten, which takes babies from 3 months. Several big family hotels are here too. You can drive in Fiss, which is easier with lots of luggage, a buggy and small children. The Fiss lifts take you up to the Zwölferkopf and the Crystal Cube.

Ladis
The third village, linked into the ski area by gondola, and the lowest of the three. It’s a good choice for couples and families with older children who want somewhere calmer.
Best ski-in/ski-out hotels in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis
- Schlosshotel Fiss: five-star, and it calls itself the only ski-in/ski-out hotel in the region.
- Baby- & Kinderhotel Laurentius, Fiss: about 50 m from the pistes.

In Serfaus, nowhere is ski-in/ski-out in the usual sense, but the underground does the job: check how far your hotel is from the nearest stop. Familienhotel Furgler is about 30 m from one.

Good-value places to stay in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis
The big family hotels aren’t cheap, but they have childcare and pools on site, so compare what’s included in the rate. To bring the cost down:
- Go in the low-season weeks: the snow start from 4 to 18 December 2026, 13 to 19 March, and from 30 March to the end of the season on 4 April 2027. Not every lift may be running in the snow start.
- Use the free lift pass for young children. Children born in 2021 or later ski free in 2026/27.
- Look at apartments and guesthouses, especially in Fiss and Ladis, if you don’t need a kids’ club.
Tips for booking a last-minute stay in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis
- Book childcare and ski school with your room. The resort warns that places fill up quickly in the school holidays, and the big family hotels’ clubs do too.
- Ask how you’ll reach the lifts. In Serfaus, check how far your hotel is from an underground stop. In Fiss and Ladis, check the walk to the nearest lift or ski bus stop.
- Arrival day in Serfaus: you can drive to your accommodation on the day you arrive, but you can’t use the car in the village again until you leave. Ask your hotel where to park.
- Early-season roadworks: the Landeck tunnel on the way in is expected to stay closed until around 7 December 2026. Allow extra time if you’re arriving before then.
- Don’t plan a mid-April trip. The lifts close on 4 April 2027.
