Davos Klosters is two very different bases joined by one ski area. Davos is a town with big hotels, a long shopping street and two stations. Klosters is a village with a quieter, more traditional feel. Because the mountains aren’t all linked, where you stay decides which ones you’ll ski most easily.

Best areas to stay in Davos Klosters

Davos Dorf

The northern end of Davos, home to the Parsenn funicular and Davos Dorf station. Stay here if Parsenn, the biggest and most varied mountain, is your priority. The Bünda practice area, with a free magic carpet, is here too.

Davos Platz

The centre of town, around the Promenade and Davos Platz station, with Jakobshorn and the Bolgen beginner area on the doorstep. It has the most restaurants, bars and après, and the ice stadium. It’s the best base for groups and for families with beginners.

Davos Glaris and the side valleys

Smaller settlements down the valley, with Rinerhorn above Glaris. Quieter, but you’ll rely on the train or bus for the other mountains. Guests here also get free local travel with the guest card.

Klosters

A village of chalets at the other end of Parsenn. The Gotschna cable car takes you into Parsenn, and Madrisa, the family mountain, is also here. Klosters is calmer than Davos in the evenings, with fewer hotels to choose from. The Silvretta Parkhotel, a family-run hotel with a big pool and the Snowli Club childcare, is the obvious family choice here. Guests staying in Klosters travel free on the Rhaetian Railway as far as Davos Platz, so Jakobshorn is still an easy day out.
